QA Automation Engineer

About the role

Runibex, a technology services provider and software product company working on cloud, commerce and product development projects, is looking for a QA Automation Engineer to join its QA team. The role builds reliable, scalable test automation for mobile, web and API platforms, improves the test automation framework, integrates automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and strengthens quality gates.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain web UI and API automated tests with Playwright
• Develop functional, integration and negative test suites for microservice APIs with REST Assured or equivalent tools
• Build mobile automation scenarios for iOS and Android with Appium
• Build a scalable, reusable framework based on Page Object Model and BDD (Cucumber/Gherkin)
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and set up smoke, regression and nightly runs
• Manage test environments and dependent services (databases, mock services, simulators) with Docker and Docker Compose
• Analyze and fix flaky tests, improve parallel execution and test data management
• Manage test reporting with Allure and link results to Jira and Xray
• Analyze application logs and metrics in OpenSearch and Grafana to investigate test failures
• Use AI coding assistants and LLMs to generate test scenarios, analyze CI logs and generate test data, and use MCP servers such as Jira MCP and Playwright MCP
• Plan the test strategy and automation scope with the QA Lead using a risk-based approach

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or a related field
• At least 5 years of software testing experience, including at least 3 years in test automation
• Openness to learning new languages, frameworks and tools as project needs change
• Good command of written and spoken English and understanding of technical documentation

Required skills

• Strong programming in at least one object-oriented language (Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python or C#)
• Playwright, REST Assured, BDD (Cucumber/Gherkin) and Page Object Model
• Docker and Docker Compose, and a CI/CD tool such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins or Azure DevOps
• Git, SQL, Postman, Jira and Xray
• Grafana and OpenSearch for log analysis
• Active use of AI coding assistants and MCP servers in testing workflows
• Plus: Java ecosystem (Maven/Gradle, JUnit/TestNG), Appium 2.x, LLM API integrations, JMeter/k6, Kubernetes or cloud platforms (Azure, AWS)
