Reliability Maintenance Engineer - Mechanical Technician

About the role

The Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) ensures the mechanical reliability and operational continuity of conveyor systems, material handling equipment and rotating machinery at the IST2 Fulfillment Center. The technician performs preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical components such as bearings, motors, gearboxes, belts, rollers and conveyor systems, working closely with engineers and other RME teams to reduce equipment downtime and support continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on conveyor systems, motors, gearboxes, reducers, belts, rollers and bearings
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures on material handling and rotating equipment
• Execute planned maintenance tasks according to CMMS work orders and preventive maintenance schedules
• Carry out bearing replacements, belt tensioning and alignment, roller and idler changes, and gearbox oil services
• Perform motor coupling alignments, V-belt and chain drive maintenance, and shaft/seal replacements
• Collaborate with engineers and other RME teams on equipment upgrades and reliability improvement projects
• Assist in root cause analysis of mechanical failures and develop corrective action plans
• Document all work in the CMMS, including parts used and time spent
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, LOTO standards and mechanical safety practices

Required profile

• Technical diploma in Mechanical, Industrial Maintenance or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with industrial mechanical maintenance
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends or on-call as needed

Required skills

• Solid understanding of conveyor systems and power transmission components (bearings, gearboxes, couplings, belts, chains)
• Proficiency with hand tools, precision measurement tools (calipers, dial gauges) and alignment equipment
• Knowledge of LOTO procedures and mechanical safety standards
• Preferred: experience in high-volume manufacturing, logistics or e-commerce fulfillment; hands-on conveyor belt, roller and sortation equipment work; knowledge of lubrication programs and bearing failure analysis; familiarity with CMMS; vibration analysis or condition monitoring experience
