SCADA Manager – Utility‑Scale Solar PV & BESS

About the role

INTEC Energy Solutions is seeking a SCADA Manager to lead the design, implementation, and technical management of SCADA systems for utility‑scale solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. The role combines deep technical expertise with leadership of multidisciplinary engineering teams across multiple regions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage all SCADA engineering activities throughout project execution.
• Prepare, review, and approve SCADA system design documentation, architecture, network topology, and control philosophy.
• Validate signal, I/O, tag, protocol mapping, alarm, and data point lists.
• Integrate SCADA with Power Plant Controllers, Energy Management Systems, inverters, BESS, RTUs, protection relays, weather stations, energy meters, MV switchgear, and other plant devices.
• Review vendor documentation and lead technical discussions with clients, owners’ engineers, EPC contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, cybersecurity requirements, IEC standards, utility requirements, and international grid codes.
• Support procurement through technical evaluations and vendor selection.
• Manage engineering schedules, resource planning, workload distribution, and quality assurance.
• Provide technical leadership during Factory Acceptance Tests, Site Acceptance Tests, commissioning, energisation, and troubleshooting.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading SCADA engineering for large‑scale renewable energy projects.
• Strong knowledge of IEC standards, cybersecurity best practices, and grid connection regulations.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with clients and suppliers.
• Experience in procurement support and technical evaluation of vendors.
