Senior Backend Engineer – Remote

About the role

Mode.Inc is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build and scale the services that power its consumer‑facing mobile products. The role is fully remote and focuses on delivering high‑performance, reliable APIs that enable users to earn points and monetize everyday mobile activities.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement backend services for user workflows, notifications and automation.
• Design micro‑services and APIs with a focus on performance, efficiency and scalability.
• Work with high‑volume data pipelines and event‑driven architectures.
• Improve system observability, monitoring, logging, testing and alerting.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and reliability issues.
• Collaborate closely with product, design, data and frontend teams to deliver features in rapid development cycles.

Required profile

• Several years of hands‑on experience building and operating backend systems at scale.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset for complex systems challenges.
