Senior Cost Accountant

About the role

Element Solutions Inc (NYSE: ESI), a specialty chemicals company, is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Cost Accountant to support and manage local GAP and financial operations, reporting and decision-making across the business. The role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced, global environment and works closely with cross-functional teams to drive financial performance and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Cost accounting: manage and control the cost accounting process for material movements, correct the cost impact of erroneous material transactions, reconcile inventory accounts in the balance sheet, and analyse factors affecting production costs
• Prepare inventory aging and inventory carrying cost reports, coordinate with departments to maintain optimum stock levels, and prepare monthly trial balances and actual cost closing activities in SAP
• Accounting: review account assignments so invoices are recorded correctly, monitor purchase order approvals, and ensure tax declarations are filed on time via the Revenue Administration e-filing system (VAT, withholding tax, stamp tax, corporate income tax)
• Prepare and follow up on TurkStat forms, perform BlackLine reconciliations and monthly account reviews, and coordinate audits with audit firms
• Communicate with SAP consultants about system corrections, track support tickets, and monitor domestic, international and intercompany reconciliations
• Oversee inflation accounting, revaluation, local GAAP and US GAAP requirements, and ensure e-Invoice, e-Dispatch and e-Ledger submissions are timely and accurate
• Finance: monitor banking transactions, follow up on payments and approval workflows, ensure taxes are paid on time, and prepare treasury reports

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Minimum 8 years of accounting experience
• Advanced accounting knowledge; CPA (SMMM) qualification preferred
• Ability to manage tax declarations accurately and knowledge of e-Invoice and e-Ledger processes
• Knowledge of VAT refund procedures; experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment highly desirable
