Senior Design & Release Engineer – Exterior/Interior Trim

About the role

EDAG Türkiye is seeking a Senior Design & Release Engineer to lead engineering design, development, and release activities for exterior and interior trim components in an international, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out engineering design, development, and release activities for exterior and interior trim components.
• Perform CAD design considering functional, styling, cost, quality, weight, and manufacturing requirements.
• Develop robust design solutions in collaboration with customers, suppliers, and cross‑functional teams.
• Evaluate supplier feedback on DFM, Moldflow, tooling and manufacturing feasibility and incorporate appropriate design solutions.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation such as BOMs, 2D drawings, FMEA, and DV planning.
• Participate in design reviews, supplier discussions and launch activities to support issue resolution and timely delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in automotive product development, preferably with an OEM, Tier‑1 supplier or engineering service provider.
• Fluent English; German is a strong asset.
• Strong communication, teamwork, problem‑solving and organizational skills.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience designing exterior and/or interior trim components.
• Advanced proficiency in CATIA V5 or Siemens NX.
• Knowledge of relevant materials and manufacturing processes (plastics, composites, carbon fiber, glazing, SMS, soft trim, injection molding).
• Practical understanding of DFM, tooling, Moldflow results and manufacturing feasibility.
• Good knowledge of GD&T and dimensional tolerancing.
