Senior Embedded Systems Engineer

About the role

Werover develops Windrover, a hardware and software solution that continuously monitors wind turbine blade health. It is looking for a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer to develop its electronics and firmware, investigate field issues and help turn research into a reliable product.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate electronics and embedded software tasks using tools such as Jira or ClickUp, tracking progress against project timelines.
• Research lightning detection approaches, including Rogowski coils, LEMP/RF sensing and MEMS sensor fusion, as well as cellular connectivity via GSM, LTE and LTE-M.
• Design PCBs for demanding field conditions with ESD and EMC protection, supporting integration into IP67/IP69K-rated products.
• Build C/C++ firmware for microcontrollers and integrate sensors, CAN bus, RS485/Modbus and cellular modules.
• Diagnose issues found in testing and in the field, run root cause analyses and contribute to DFMEA activities and design improvements.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a related field.
• Strong experience in analog and digital PCB design, RF layout, EMI/EMC considerations, TVS protection and impedance matching networks.
• Hands-on experience diagnosing hardware issues with equipment such as oscilloscopes and vector network analyzers.
• Ability to organise technical work, follow through on development tasks and communicate progress clearly.
• Curious about sensor technologies and disciplined in researching and evaluating new technical approaches.
