Senior NLP / LLM / LLMOps Data Scientist

About the role

ING is building trustworthy AI for one of Europe’s leading banks. As a Senior NLP / LLM / LLMOps Data Scientist you will design, develop and operationalise conversational AI, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation and knowledge‑intensive workflows that support KYC and customer operations across multiple countries.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and scale production‑grade conversational AI and RAG solutions for regulated banking use cases.
• Build NLP pipelines for structured and unstructured text processing, including document understanding and summarisation.
• Implement LLMOps practices: evaluation, monitoring, experimentation, continuous optimisation and compliance reporting.
• Collaborate with ML engineers, product teams and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, explainable AI services.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in NLP, Information Retrieval, Machine Learning or Generative AI.
• Proven track record of building and deploying production‑grade NLP or LLM applications.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain AI concepts to technical and business audiences.
• Fluent English.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Deep‑learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Transformers, embeddings, vector search and RAG architectures.
• Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face libraries.
• Google Cloud Platform, Vertex AI.
• CI/CD, MLOps / LLMOps practices.
