Senior Project SHE Executive

About the role

Nestlé is looking for a Senior Project SHE Executive to join its Technical & Production team in Karacabey, Bursa. The role leads Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) activities across the project lifecycle, integrating SHE requirements into design, construction, commissioning and handover, and overseeing contractors and subcontractors. The contract is permanent.

Key responsibilities

• Lead SHE activities through the project lifecycle, ensuring governance, planning and compliance with Nestlé SHE and Engineering requirements.
• Integrate SHE into project design and execution, including risk assessments, machinery safety reviews, HAZID and HAZOP where applicable.
• Define and oversee contractor and subcontractor SHE requirements, including prequalification, onboarding, permit-to-work, inspections, audits and performance monitoring.
• Ensure safe construction and installation, with a focus on high-risk work, emergency preparedness and risk controls.
• Maintain the Project SHE Risk Register, monitor critical actions and support Management of Change (MOC).
• Track leading and lagging SHE KPIs, report regularly to project governance forums and escalate risks, overdue actions and contractor performance gaps.
• Lead reporting and investigation of incidents, near misses and environmental events, with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Ensure SHE compliance during installation, commissioning and handover, including FAT, SAT and PSSR.
• Promote safety leadership, environmental compliance and sustainable engineering, and embed safety-by-design principles.
• Ensure compliance with Turkish SHE legislation, permits and statutory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in SHE, Engineering or Project Management, including 5 years in major investment, construction or industrial installation projects.
• Strong SHE leadership experience in complex construction and commissioning environments, including contractor and subcontractor safety management.
• Experience in machinery safety, commissioning risk, FAT, SAT, PSSR and operational handover.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders, engineering teams and contractors in a multicultural project environment.
• Professional working proficiency in English and the local language.
• Availability to work predominantly on site and support critical construction, installation and commissioning outside standard hours when required.

Required skills

• Incident investigation, root-cause analysis and risk management.
• Preferred: NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent; ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 Lead Auditor certification; machinery safety, HAZOP, construction safety or project management credentials.
