Software Design Engineer

About the role

Join ARF Technologies' Electronics & Telecommunication R&D team as a Software Design Engineer, developing embedded software for protection relays and precision time servers in the medium‑voltage electric sector.

Key responsibilities

• Research, develop, test and validate embedded software for protection relays and PTP time servers.
• Ensure application robustness using advanced testing tools, risk analysis and quality‑feature definition.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams on subsystem development and create design guidelines.
• Provide technical support, contribute to product improvement initiatives and define validation plans for new products.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Control & Automation/Computer Engineering (Master preferred).
• 2‑5 years of experience in embedded C/C++ development.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Embedded C/C++ programming.
• Microcontroller architectures and peripherals (ADC, PWM, I2C, UART, SPI).
• Embedded Linux development, with some driver/kernel exposure.
• Python for embedded Linux applications.
• Experience with MISRA‑C, at least one RTOS and version control (Git).
• Systematic testing, debugging and code review.
