Sr. Accounting Associate (Remote, USA-Based)

About the role

Manay CPA, a global full-service accounting and advisory firm with over 20 years of experience, is looking for a Senior Accounting Associate to work remotely from Turkey. The role offers hands-on experience with U.S. GAAP, tax codes and business operations, with work hours based on U.S. Eastern Time. Travel may be required.

Key responsibilities

• Lead onboarding of new clients, design accounting system setups and ensure smooth transitions
• Run day-to-day bookkeeping, including accounts payable and receivable, monthly closings and financial reports and analysis
• Review and guide junior staff's work
• Complete accounting, reporting and tax tasks accurately using company software
• Prepare and review payroll, sales tax returns, depreciation schedules and other accounting documents
• Lead audit preparation and manage reconciliation end to end
• Analyze financial data to forecast revenue and evaluate profit margins
• Prepare and file U.S. corporate and individual income tax returns, including 1099s and year-end filings
• Research complex tax and accounting issues, improve clients' processes and lead special projects and report preparation
• Mentor junior team members and participate in company-wide improvement initiatives

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, business or a related field
• 4-5+ years of experience in accounting, audit and/or tax
• Prior experience in an outsourced or multi-client accounting environment required
• Turkish CPA (SMMM) license strongly preferred; US GAAP experience is a big plus
• Prior experience reviewing or mentoring junior accounting staff preferred
• Excellent written and verbal Business English; interviews are held in English

Required skills

• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Strong experience with accounting software systems
• Ability to analyze complex data and communicate clearly
