Sr. Audit Associate (Remote, USA-Based)

About the role

Manay CPA, a global accounting and advisory firm with over 20 years of experience, is looking for a Senior Audit Associate to work remotely from Turkey on U.S.-based audit engagements. The role covers audit, accounting and tax work, with a hybrid design: audit tasks supplemented by bookkeeping, tax return preparation and financial reporting support, especially outside peak audit season. Work hours follow U.S. Eastern Time.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the onboarding of new audit clients, designing audit workflows and documentation setup.
• Run day-to-day audit tasks: risk assessment, planning, fieldwork, workpaper preparation and audit program completion, reviewing and guiding junior staff.
• Use Thomson Reuters Engagement for audit, reporting and compliance tasks.
• Prepare and review audit schedules, management letters, reconciliations and other documentation.
• Design and perform substantive testing and analytical procedures, and analyze financial data for trends, anomalies and risks.
• Research complex auditing, accounting and regulatory issues and help with U.S. federal and state compliance, including year-end reporting and filing support.
• Work across accounting, tax and audit engagements, suggest process improvements, join company-wide improvement initiatives, lead special projects and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, business or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in auditing, accounting and/or tax; public accounting or external audit experience is required.
• Prior experience leading fieldwork and mentoring junior staff preferred.
• Experience with U.S. GAAP and/or IFRS is a big plus; training is provided.
• Turkish CPA (SMMM) or YMM license strongly preferred.
• Comfortable working across audit, accounting and tax; audit-only candidates are unlikely to fit.

Required skills

• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Strong experience with audit or accounting software systems.
• Excellent written and verbal Business English; interviews are held in English.
