Staff Engineer, Digital Design Engineering

About the role

Analog Devices' Automotive Business Unit, within its GMSL SerDes group, develops integrated circuits for automotive high-speed serial data communications used in next-generation safety and infotainment systems. This Staff Engineer, Digital Design Engineering position sits in a global design team, working with cross-functional teams to design complex mixed-signal integrated circuits.

Key responsibilities

• Support the feasibility and definition of product requirements for high-speed data communication products with the Product Definer.
• Perform RTL design of owned blocks using SystemVerilog.
• Create and manage verification plans by understanding the top-level design and working with other design engineers.
• Carry out block and top-level RTL and gate-level verification and regression tests using SystemVerilog.
• Support synthesis, STA, DFT and place-and-route supervision.
• Run bench validation of owned functions.
• Work with test engineers to help finalize their test programs toward product introduction.
• Answer customer and application questions as needed.

Required profile

• MSEE with a specialization in IC design (VLSI).
• At least 8+ years of experience in digital design.
• Experience in synthesis, DFT and supervision of timing-driven place-and-route; UVM verification background is a plus.
• Experience in video/audio communication and processing is a plus.
• Good communication and presentation skills in English and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• High-speed and low-power RTL design and verification using hardware description languages, preferably SystemVerilog.
• Hands-on experience with digital design and verification tools and methodologies.

The role requires travel about 10% of the time and is scheduled on the first shift, days. Positions requiring access to technical data may require export licensing approval from the U.S. government, so non-U.S. citizens and permanent residents may need to go through an export licensing review.
