Supplier Development Assistant

About the role

Asentor is an Istanbul-based trading company that sources industrial products from manufacturers in Turkey, Europe and the US and sells them to customers in CIS markets. It handles the whole chain: finding suppliers, managing production and quality, and delivering on time. The Supplier Development Assistant is a full-time, office-based role in Istanbul (İstanbul Dünya Ticaret Merkezi, Bakırköy) focused on finding new opportunities: identifying new suppliers, assessing their products for the target markets and opening the relationship.

Key responsibilities

• Attend industrial fairs in Istanbul (İFM, TÜYAP), spending several full days on site each fair: meeting exhibitors, reaching export managers and starting collaboration talks
• Identify companies that export, or could export, to CIS countries
• Follow up after fairs to obtain catalogues, price lists and distributor terms
• Carry out product-market fit research, delivered as short written reports
• Build and maintain a directory of suppliers and their networks
• Support ongoing projects with supplier research when needed

Required profile

• Turkish citizenship or a valid Turkish work permit
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical), Foreign Trade, International Trade or a related field
• Ability to understand technical products and read catalogues and datasheets
• Confidence approaching new contacts at fairs and building relationships
• Strong analytical skills and good Excel skills; openness to working with AI tools
• An internship or work experience in procurement, foreign trade or industrial sales is an advantage

What we offer

• Salary of 40,000–55,000 TL net per month, depending on experience and availability
• Travel, meals and other work-related costs covered by the company
• Monday to Friday, 09:00–18:00, with a 1-hour lunch break
• Office-based in Istanbul with field days at the fairs during fair periods
