Systems Manager

About the role

Mapa, a global engineering and construction leader, is seeking an experienced Systems Manager to oversee its data centre and hybrid cloud infrastructure in Maslak, Istanbul. The role is permanent, full‑time and on‑site, requiring strong hands‑on expertise and leadership of technical teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage data centre infrastructure, physical and virtual servers, storage, backup and hybrid cloud environments.
• Oversee installation, configuration, updates and lifecycle management of Linux‑based open‑source systems.
• Monitor system availability, performance, capacity and SLA/KPI metrics.
• Lead virtualization, high‑availability, replication and workload continuity solutions.
• Administer Active Directory / Entra ID, Microsoft 365, user accounts and access permissions.
• Plan and test backup, restore and disaster‑recovery processes to meet RTO/RPO targets.
• Coordinate critical incidents, conduct root‑cause analysis and drive permanent improvements.
• Implement security controls, logging, privileged‑access, vulnerability and patch management.
• Plan data‑centre capacity, hardware, licensing and technology investments.
• Manage vendor and service‑provider technical processes and maintain system inventories and documentation.
• Allocate tasks, develop and evaluate the IT team, and report system performance and risks to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 7 years of systems infrastructure experience, including at least 2 years in team or technical operations management.
• Strong background in enterprise data‑centre operations and Linux/open‑source environments.
• Experience with virtualization platforms and high‑availability solutions.
• Good command of English preferred.

• Open‑source technologies: Apache, Nginx, HAProxy, PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB.
• Virtualization: VMware, Hyper‑V, Proxmox, KVM, Nutanix.
• Storage and backup: SAN, NAS, replication, high‑availability.
• Microsoft: Active Directory, Entra ID, Group Policy, Microsoft 365.
• Container and automation: Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible.
• Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewall technologies.
• Frameworks: ITIL, ISO 27001, KVKK (Turkish data‑protection law).
