Tank Supervisor – Industrial Construction

About the role

Join Bureau Veritas as a Tank Supervisor and play a key part in delivering high‑quality, safe, and environmentally responsible storage tank projects. You will lead the erection of above‑ground welded tanks, refrigerated LNG tanks and spherical pressure vessels, ensuring compliance with international codes and client specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise all phases of tank and sphere erection, from foundation hand‑over to mechanical completion and hand‑over to commissioning.
• Coordinate welding activities, ensuring compliance with WPS/PQR requirements, welder qualifications and distortion control.
• Manage hydrostatic testing, dimensional control, and NDT inspections (VT, PT, MT, UT, RT, vacuum box) according to project specifications.
• Oversee material identification, traceability, and construction records for plates, consumables and welding documentation.
• Lead subcontractors and construction teams, ensuring adherence to quality, HSE, schedule and contractual obligations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 8–12 years of experience in mechanical installation or equipment erection on industrial projects.
• Proven experience with double‑containment tank systems and LPG storage tanks.
• Hands‑on experience in petrochemical, refinery or gas‑storage environments.

Required skills

• Construction and erection of API 650 above‑ground welded storage tanks.
• Experience with API 625 refrigerated liquefied‑gas tank systems.
• Welding procedure expertise (WPS/PQR, joint preparation, pre‑heating, PWHT).
• Proficiency in NDT methods: VT, PT, MT, UT, RT, vacuum box testing.
• Hydrostatic testing coordination and execution.
• Heavy‑lifting and erection planning, including crane and rigging supervision.
