Tax - Payroll Senior

About the role

EY's Global Payroll Operate team in Istanbul is looking for a Senior to join its payroll operations. The team manages and supports the whole payroll process, from data collection and source-to-gross calculations to statutory reporting, general ledger files, payments and employee communication.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor payroll delivery timelines, service quality and compliance requirements
• Support payroll transition, implementation and transformation projects
• Prepare and control monthly salary calculations and payrolls
• Prepare accounting records of monthly payroll expenses by estimated cost centers
• Prepare salary payment information in the format required by banks
• Prepare monthly payroll summaries and reports
• Track annual leave, calculate leave provisions and severance pay provisions under Turkish and IFRS standards
• Calculate severance and notice pay for departing employees
• Prepare and submit monthly withholding income tax, premium and SSI declarations
• Inform clients of changes in the Labor Law, Social Security Law and Income Tax Law affecting payroll
• Help clients set up employee personal files and complete employee registration and deregistration via SSI portals

Required profile

• University degree, preferably in Accounting and Finance, Business Administration, Labor Economics or Industrial Relations
• Deep knowledge of end-to-end payroll calculations and processes (at least 4 years of experience)
• Fluent written and spoken English
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to work flexible hours

Required skills

• Excellent Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills, with experience in reporting
• Payroll calculations and payroll process expertise
