Upstream Production Specialist / Senior Specialist - Drug Substance

About the role

Abdi İbrahim, a Turkish pharmaceutical company founded in 1912, is looking for an Upstream Production Specialist or Senior Specialist to join its Drug Substance Production team at the Biotechnological Production Facility (AbdiBio) on the Esenyurt campus.

Key responsibilities

• Execute GMP-compliant upstream operations
• Operate and troubleshoot process equipment such as bioreactors, biosafety cabinets and incubators
• Prepare media, buffers and solutions for cell culture
• Maintain accurate documentation including batch records, logbooks and SOPs
• Perform CIP/SIP and support equipment readiness and cleaning
• Follow safety, compliance and quality standards in all activities
• Write up deviations, carry out investigations, CAPA and effective checks

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering or a related life science discipline
• 0-6 years of experience in biopharma/biotech (upstream)
• Strong English communication and a collaborative, improvement-focused mindset

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with single-use bioreactors (Wave, 100L-2000L)
• Use of analytical tools such as cell counters, metabolite/gas analyzers, pH meters and osmometers
• Knowledge of cGMP, aseptic processing and quality systems (change control, CAPA, deviations)
