Senior Mobile Android Developer

About the role

Tsys is looking for a Mobile Android Developer in Istanbul. You will work throughout the software development life cycle, designing, coding, debugging, testing and maintaining Android applications, and will own the technical design and architecture of assigned features.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver Android features from requirements through implementation, producing secure, reliable, high-performance apps aligned with business and technical objectives.
• Own the technical design and architecture of features, collaborating with product owners, architects, QA engineers and fellow developers.
• Plan and execute development by breaking features into tasks, estimating effort, tracking progress and delivering predictable, high-quality work.
• Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, coding standards and modern Android practices, and continuously improve performance, security and maintainability.
• Ensure product quality end-to-end by writing unit tests, supporting functional and automated testing, resolving technical issues independently and working with QA.

Required profile

• 6+ years of Android development experience, building and supporting production-grade mobile applications.
• Ability to communicate in English.
• Strong problem-solving and technical communication skills, able to troubleshoot complex issues and collaborate across teams.
• Nice to have: stakeholder partnership, proactive ownership and continuous improvement in Agile settings, and experience building high-performing, cross-functional or distributed teams.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in Kotlin, Java and the Android SDK.
• Modern Android architecture patterns such as MVVM, clean architecture, dependency injection and scalable design.
• Integrating APIs, SDKs and third-party libraries with a focus on performance and user experience.
• Secure mobile development: secure coding, code obfuscation, encryption, HTTPS/TLS and Android KeyStore/KeyChain.
