Senior Data Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Data Engineer you will design and operate the data backbone that powers real‑time mobility intelligence for millions of rides across the city.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable end‑to‑end ETL/ELT pipelines processing millions of events daily.
• Write clean, production‑grade code for complex data transformations and performance optimisation.
• Establish data governance standards, ensuring data quality, lineage and security.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists to deliver reliable datasets for real‑time machine‑learning models.
• Tune big‑data environments (AWS/GCP, Spark, Airflow) for maximum performance and scalability.
• Translate product and engineering requirements into robust data schemas and analytical assets.

Required profile

• 5+ years of data engineering experience with a solid computer‑science foundation.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL, and hands‑on experience with Spark, Kafka or Flink.
• Demonstrated expertise in data governance, cataloguing, lineage tracking and quality frameworks.
• Deep experience managing data infrastructure on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure).
• Strong problem‑solving skills for query optimisation and bottleneck resolution.
• Excellent communication ability to explain technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
