Animator (2D & 3D)

About the role

Yaqeen Institute, a nonprofit focused on Islamic research presented in creative formats, is looking for a versatile Animator (2D & 3D) to support its media team in creating animation for a video series and its companion content. Reporting to the Head of Animation, you will learn the team's procedures, workflow and design language before taking ownership of whole projects, and will also support VFX-related work when needed. The role suits someone with a strong eye for typography and on-screen text who is excited about how AI tools are changing animation.

Key responsibilities

• Design and animate expressive on-screen text, including titles, intros, quotes, captions and stylized typography.
• Create 2D and 3D animation, such as motion graphics, set extensions, maps and historical environments, across the full 3D pipeline from modelling to lighting, texturing and rendering.
• Use AI image and video tools in the workflow and refine, composite and animate their output to a consistent standard.
• Create and composite VFX shots that blend with live footage, and produce animated visuals for short-form and companion content.
• Contribute ideas during ideation, follow briefs and feedback, and maintain the visual language of each series.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of experience as an animator or motion designer, with work in both 2D and 3D.
• Strong typography and text animation skills, shown in a portfolio.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools for image and video generation, combined with traditional animation.
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Illustrator and Photoshop, and solid grounding in design, typography, composition and animation fundamentals.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• After Effects for motion graphics and VFX compositing.
• Maya, Cinema 4D or Blender for 3D animation.
• A PC or Mac capable of running 3D apps and the latest Adobe apps, plus a fast internet connection.
