Assistant Manager - Housekeeping

About the role

This entry‑level management position supports daily operations in Housekeeping, Recreation/Health Club and Laundry for a hotel in Istanbul. You will work closely with staff to ensure guestrooms and public areas are clean, inspected and maintained while upholding guest satisfaction and budgetary goals.

Key responsibilities

• Manage housekeeping operations, budgets and inventory of supplies and linens.
• Coordinate room cleaning assignments based on check‑outs and prospective departures.
• Conduct inspections of guestrooms and public spaces and enforce corrective actions.
• Communicate room status promptly to the Front Desk and collaborate with Engineering on maintenance needs.
• Oversee lost‑and‑found procedures and loss‑prevention policies.
• Ensure all staff have proper uniforms, equipment and supplies.
• Supervise housekeeping staff in the absence of the Director of Services or Housekeeping Manager.
• Handle guest complaints, review feedback and promote exceptional customer service.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 1 year housekeeping experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related field.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage budgets and inventories.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and loss‑prevention procedures.
• Effective communication and teamwork with front‑desk and engineering departments.
