Asterisk & VoIP Systems Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Asterisk & VoIP Systems Engineer to lead the development, integration, operation, and support of enterprise PBX, call‑center and unified communications platforms. The role focuses on pure Asterisk deployments in high‑availability environments and requires deep technical expertise across VoIP, Linux and automation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage installation, configuration, integration and support of Enterprise PBX, Call Center and Unified Communications platforms built on pure Asterisk.
• Develop CRM, ERP and internal application integrations using Dialplan, AGI, AMI and ARI.
• Compile Asterisk from source, handle module management, patching, upgrades and migrations.
• Configure SIP trunks, SBCs, FXO/FXS/PRI gateways and manage Asterisk Realtime Architecture (ARA) database integrations.
• Deploy and operate Kamailio/OpenSIPS for SIP proxy and routing requirements.
• Perform packet‑level analysis and root‑cause analysis using Wireshark, tcpdump and sngrep.
• Administer Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers, develop Bash/Shell automation and support Java/Tomcat applications.
• Monitor systems with Zabbix, SolarWinds and manage centralized logging via Elasticsearch.
• Participate in incident, problem and change management processes and maintain technical documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience designing, developing and operating high‑traffic Asterisk‑based PBX or VoIP platforms.
• Proven experience with high‑availability Asterisk architectures, failover, SIP trunk redundancy and disaster recovery.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with ability to perform systematic RCA across application, system, network and VoIP layers.
• Professional working proficiency in technical English and willingness to participate in on‑call rotation.
