Business Development Manager – Eastern Mediterranean

About the role

Maersk Project Logistics is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive revenue and profit growth across Turkey and the Eastern Mediterranean region. Based in Istanbul, the role requires a customer‑centric mindset and the ability to manage complex project logistics opportunities from early engagement through execution.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver area revenue and gross profit targets for containerized, breakbulk, heavy‑lift, OOG, RoRo, chartering and multimodal cargo.
• Define and execute growth strategy, including market penetration, pricing and profitability plans.
• Qualify opportunities, manage pipeline, forecast and ensure disciplined CRM usage.
• Lead bid and proposal processes (RFI, RFQ, RFP) in partnership with Sales and Solution Design.
• Oversee handover to Operations, ensuring scope clarity and risk ownership.
• Collaborate across regions to develop cross‑border end‑to‑end opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven track record in business development within project logistics, delivering sustainable revenue and profit growth.
• Strong knowledge of Turkey’s project logistics market and key industry verticals (renewables, construction, mining, defense, automotive, industrial manufacturing).
• Experience qualifying and managing long‑cycle, complex opportunities.
• Data‑driven decision making and contract negotiation skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management and ability to influence in a matrix organization.
• Willingness to travel regularly within Turkey and ad‑hoc across the Eastern Mediterranean.

Required skills

• Fluency in English and Turkish (written and verbal).
• Strong solution‑selling and customer‑engagement capabilities.
