Country Design Lead – Turkey (12‑month contract)

About the role

As the Country Design Lead for Turkey, you will shape Canva's creative direction for a key growth market, ensuring all content feels locally authentic and culturally resonant for Turkish users.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and drive the creative direction for the Turkish market, translating strategy into culturally relevant templates and assets across social media, presentations, websites, and print.
• Oversee content creation and curation, from design kits to campaign assets, maintaining Canva’s visual quality and cultural authenticity.
• Leverage AI tools and scalable workflows to accelerate production while preserving craft.
• Lead quality control across all outputs, aligning with brand guidelines and high design standards.
• Manage and mentor local freelance designers and creators, providing briefs, feedback, and direction.
• Collaborate with Country Content Strategy, Marketing, SEO, and Community teams to align creative goals.
• Conduct content audits and performance analysis to identify gaps and opportunities.

Required profile

• Strong design portfolio demonstrating visual craft and cultural sensitivity.
• Passion for using AI tools as creative accelerators.
• Deep understanding of Turkish culture, design aesthetics, and consumer behaviour.
• Ability to juggle multiple workstreams in a fast‑moving environment without compromising quality.
• Experience working with freelancers or creators, including briefing and talent development.
• Excellent collaborator who can build trust across teams, functions, and time zones.
