Digital Assets Compliance Engineer

About the role

As an On‑Chain Compliance Engineer you will design, build and operate technology that enables ING to monitor, assess and control compliance risks in digital‑asset activities. You will work at the intersection of software engineering, AML/CFT, sanctions screening, Travel Rule requirements and regulatory technology.

Key responsibilities

• Develop scalable, automated and auditable compliance controls for on‑chain activity.
• Translate regulatory obligations into technical controls, data models, APIs, alerting workflows and evidence trails.
• Collaborate with global teams to deliver solutions used across the bank.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Cyber Security, Finance Technology or related field.
• Strong understanding of AML/CFT, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, Travel Rule and EU digital‑asset regulation (MiCA).
• Experience working in a regulated banking environment with emphasis on traceability, privacy, security and auditability.

Required skills

• Blockchain analytics platforms such as Chainalysis, TRM Labs, Elliptic, Merkle Science or similar.
• Permissioned blockchain platforms (Corda, Hyperledger Fabric, Hyperledger Besu, Quorum, Ethereum‑compatible networks).
• Knowledge of tokenisation, stablecoins, CBDCs, DeFi protocols, DEXs, mixers and smart‑contract risk.
• Graph analytics, network analysis, entity resolution, anomaly detection or machine‑learning for fraud/AML use cases.
• Data‑governance, lineage, retention, privacy, access‑control and audit‑evidence practices.
