Environmental Engineer

About the role

Çimsa is seeking an Environmental Engineer to manage environmental performance and legal compliance at its Mersin plant. You will support sustainability and decarbonisation goals while ensuring adherence to environmental legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor compliance with environmental legislation, permits, licenses and other legal requirements.
• Manage environmental permits, declarations, reporting and communication with authorities.
• Track, analyse and report emissions, air quality, water, waste and environmental KPIs.
• Develop initiatives to improve waste and water management and resource efficiency.
• Identify environmental risks, conduct site inspections and follow up on corrective actions.
• Support alternative fuel/raw material, sustainability and decarbonisation projects.
• Prepare for environmental audits and implement related actions.
• Monitor the environmental budget and actual expenditures.
• Contribute to environmental awareness and training activities.
• Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Energy, HSE, Sustainability and other functions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in environmental management, preferably in cement, mining, energy or manufacturing.
• Holder of an Environmental Officer Certificate.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive, results‑oriented and collaborative mindset.
• B2 level English proficiency.
• Valid Class B driving licence and willingness to travel.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, permits/licenses, emissions, waste and water management.
• Experience in environmental measurement, monitoring and reporting processes.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Knowledge of sustainability, carbon management or decarbonisation (preferred).
