Finance & Accounting Expert (Remote Contractor)

About the role

A partner company is looking for an experienced finance and accounting expert to turn real-world financial workflows into rigorous, realistic benchmark tasks. This is a remote, independent contractor role where you design complex scenarios across financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, auditing and reconciliations, and create clear instructions, supporting documentation and consistent evaluation criteria. The work is based in Turkey.

Key responsibilities

• Design realistic, multi-step finance and accounting tasks covering FP&A analysis, financial reporting, audit procedures and account reconciliations.
• Develop clear task instructions and objective grading rubrics so reviewers can assess submissions consistently.
• Create challenging scenarios requiring professional judgment and careful interpretation of source materials.
• Prepare or source supporting materials such as spreadsheets, general ledger extracts, financial statements and policy documents.
• Review tasks for clarity, accuracy and gradability, flagging ambiguous scenarios.
• Deliver approved tasks on schedule to the required standard.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in FP&A, financial reporting, auditing, reconciliations, accounting or a closely related field, with direct responsibility for the work.
• Experience developing or applying structured review standards such as audit programs, checklists, grading rubrics or training assessments.
• Strong written English and the ability to write precise instructions and well-structured documentation.
• Ability to work independently, manage deadlines and deliver high-quality work remotely.
• A CPA, CA, ACCA, CMA or equivalent qualification is an advantage but not required.

Required skills

• Strong Excel skills and the ability to analyse information across multiple financial documents and data sources.
• Analytical thinking and attention to detail.

What we offer

• Hourly pay of $40-$90 depending on engagement and expertise.
• Remote work from anywhere, with an initial 12-month contract of about 15 hours per week.
