Investment Banking Associate - Turkey Coverage, Istanbul

About the role

J.P. Morgan Turkiye & Azerbaijan Coverage is looking for an Associate to join its Investment Banking team in Istanbul. The team originates and executes M&A, equity capital markets and debt capital markets transactions across sectors, maintains key client relationships across the region and supports corporate strategies. As an Associate, you will take part in deal teams staffed across J.P. Morgan's global teams and give equity and debt capital markets advisory on listings, rights issues and acquisition and leveraged finance transactions across EMEA.

Key responsibilities

• Execute, market and cover deals across industries and investment banking products
• Research and analyse market data and companies
• Prepare client presentations
• Perform valuation analyses (DCF, multiples, LBO, etc.) and analyse capital structures, credit profiles and financing needs
• Build detailed and complex financial models
• Coordinate with industry and product teams and run transactions from pitch to close (public and private M&A, divestitures, equity and debt capital markets)
• Provide leadership, mentorship and supervision to Analysts and Interns

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of investment banking or corporate finance experience (3 years if with a bulge bracket investment bank)
• Advanced knowledge of the transaction cycle of relevant investment banking products
• Strong commercial awareness of the Turkish economy and market; familiarity with the Azerbaijani market is a plus
• Ability to manage projects and lead workstreams, and to work independently and multitask
• Advanced English and Turkish
