Junior Associate Counsel (English, Turkish)

About the role

Google is looking for a Junior Associate Counsel to join its Regional Legal team in Turkey. The lawyer advises on the legal compliance of Google's products and services and supports advertising sales and marketing operations in Turkey. The role involves reviewing and revising contracts, advising on regulatory compliance and managing pre-contentious and contentious matters.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice to the company, including management teams, legal teams, marketing, business development, advertising sales and other departments in Turkey, across EMEA and the US.
• Respond promptly to internal and external requests for advice on regulatory inquiries, contracts, commercial regulations, litigation, IP, data protection, advertising and consumer protection.
• Manage pre-contentious and contentious matters, including private litigation and governmental investigations, and coordinate with external law firms.
• Draft, negotiate and adapt under local law a wide range of commercial agreements, including license and strategic partnership agreements.

Required profile

• JD, LL.B. or equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house or at a law firm.
• Experience advising media and technology companies, with a background in media, communications, intellectual property, data protection and contract law.
• Experience in litigation.
• Admitted to the bar and in good standing, or otherwise authorized to practice law in the jurisdiction where the position is located.
• Fluent communication in English and Turkish.
• Preferred: deep understanding of online technologies and industry; good business judgment, organization and project management under deadline pressure; excellent negotiation and people skills.
