Kitchen, Cooking & Tableware Category Executive

About the role

The Category Executive will shape the product assortment for kitchen, cooking and tableware based on trends and customer expectations, supporting METRO’s mission to promote Turkish culinary culture.

Key responsibilities

• Define product assortment in line with category strategy and customer needs.
• Manage day‑to‑day relationships with key suppliers, including contracting, ordering, demand communication and follow‑up on back orders.
• Conduct regular market research to identify new suppliers, products and competitor trends.
• Prepare monthly category performance reports and take corrective actions.
• Provide content for METRO marketing campaigns reaching over one million households.
• Collaborate with Sales, Finance, Marketing and Logistics to achieve category targets.

Required profile

• University degree in a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in category management or purchasing, preferably in FMCG.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Passion for food and willingness to explore new trends.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications for reporting and strategic support.
