Legal Counsel – Commercial & Contract Law (EMEA)

About the role

Vertiv is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its EMEA Legal Department. The role focuses on supporting commercial operations through contract management, compliance, and risk mitigation, working closely with senior counsel and cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and interpret a wide range of commercial agreements, including sales, services, software licensing and customer contracts.
• Provide day‑to‑day legal advice on commercial, corporate, compliance and regulatory matters.
• Identify, assess and mitigate legal and commercial risks for the business.
• Ensure compliance with local and international laws, regulations and internal policies.
• Monitor legislative developments and advise on potential business impact.
• Support contract lifecycle management and compliance initiatives such as GDPR, data privacy, ethics and trade compliance.
• Conduct legal research and prepare analyses on commercial and regulatory topics.
• Collaborate with internal departments, external counsel and customers on legal matters and negotiations.
• Assist governance, compliance and other legal projects across the EMEA region.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Law.
• 3–5 years of experience as an in‑house Legal Counsel or in a multinational environment.
• Strong expertise in commercial and contract law; knowledge of employment law is a plus.
• Proven track record drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Experience advising internal stakeholders on legal, compliance and risk management.
• Familiarity with GDPR, data‑privacy regulations and corporate compliance frameworks.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• High ethical standards, integrity and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, international setting.
• Willingness to travel occasionally within the EMEA region.
