Legal Intern – Corporate, Banking & Finance

About the role

KNK Law, a Turkish law firm based in Istanbul advising corporations, financial institutions, investors and private clients, is looking for a Legal Intern. The intern works closely with the Partner and Associates on corporate, commercial, mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance and project finance matters.

Key responsibilities

• Support the team on corporate, commercial, banking and finance and project finance matters
• Conduct legal research on areas of Turkish law
• Assist in preparing legal opinions, client presentations, transaction documents and other advisory materials
• Monitor and review legislation, regulatory developments, court decisions and administrative practices affecting clients and ongoing matters
• Help draft petitions, official correspondence and legal reports
• Assist with matters before courts, enforcement offices, notaries and other public authorities

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Law from a reputable Turkish university
• Strong academic record
• Passed the Entrance Exam for Legal Professionals (HMGS)
• Strong interest in and eagerness to develop expertise in Commercial Law and Banking & Finance Law
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and very good command of written and spoken English
• Responsible, solution-oriented and detail-oriented, able to work in a fast-paced, professional environment
