Maintenance Engineer – Preventive Maintenance & Equipment Reliability

About the role

Sika is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to lead the development and execution of a preventative maintenance program across its production facilities. The role focuses on ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous production.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and continuously improve a preventative maintenance strategy for all plant equipment.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve equipment failures promptly.
• Plan and oversee maintenance schedules, repairs and upgrades for HVAC, compressors, pumps, motors and production machinery.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with production teams to limit operational disruption.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, safety checks and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct root‑cause analyses and apply corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory and ensure critical components are available.
• Work with external vendors for specialized repairs and ensure contract compliance.
• Enforce health, safety and environmental standards within the maintenance department.
• Identify process improvements and equipment upgrades to boost efficiency.
• Utilise BEAM, SAP PM and other CMMS tools; track department budget and energy‑saving projects.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical‑Electronics, Mechanical or Mechatronics engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance.
• Qualified engineer with an electrical and/or mechanical background.
• Strong analytical, organizational and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work autonomously, under pressure and lead initiatives.
• Familiarity with health and safety legislation.
• Proficient in English.
