Maintenance Planning Engineer

About the role

The Maintenance Planning Engineer will design, implement and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for a leading ice‑cream manufacturing operation. Working closely with production, engineering and external service providers, you will ensure equipment reliability, high uptime and compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Create, manage and optimise preventive and predictive maintenance plans.
• Develop daily, weekly and shutdown maintenance schedules aligned with cross‑functional teams.
• Analyse equipment breakdowns, conduct root‑cause analyses (RCA) and drive corrective actions.
• Track and control maintenance KPIs such as MTTR, MTBF and OEE, delivering continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with production, engineering and third‑party vendors to maximise equipment availability.
• Plan spare‑part inventory and keep SAP/CMMS data up to date.
• Support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives, especially the Preventive Maintenance pillar.
• Lead or contribute to cost‑saving and digitalisation projects related to maintenance.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety, quality and environmental regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in maintenance planning or reliability engineering within an industrial environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret downtime trends and performance metrics.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with cross‑functional teams.
• Proactive attitude, ownership and the ability to drive projects to completion.

Required skills

• Preventive & predictive maintenance methodology.
• Root‑cause analysis (RCA) and reliability improvement techniques.
• Maintenance cost control and KPI monitoring (MTTR, MTBF, OEE).
• Hands‑on experience with SAP PM and CMMS tools (e.g., Boysweb, DFOS).
• Advanced Excel for reporting and data analysis.
• Knowledge of TPM, 5S, Kaizen and structured problem‑solving.
• Planning and prioritisation of workload and resources.
