Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will deliver standard mechanical engineering outputs and create customer‑specific solutions that meet requirements, standards and manufacturing capabilities. You will maintain accurate BOMs, 3D models and drawings within PLM/PDM systems and SAP while supporting the engineering‑to‑order process.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings and Bill of Materials in PLM/PDM and SAP.
• Prepare technical specifications for component purchases and ensure completeness of engineering data.
• Drive customer approvals for standard and customized mechanical designs through effective coordination.
• Conduct and support Design and Process FMEA activities to mitigate risks and improve reliability.
• Analyse issues and propose improvements in processes, tooling and drawing methods in collaboration with management.
• Document all activities in accordance with procedures and provide internal documentation.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Mechanical, Electromechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical design for medium‑voltage (MV) switchgear.

Required skills

• Inventor, Creo Direct Modeling or SolidWorks CAD tools.
• Experience with PLM/PDM systems such as Model Manager, Enovia or SolidWorks PDM.
• Knowledge of IEC 62271 series standards.
• Understanding of sheet‑metal, machining and welding manufacturing technologies.
• Familiarity with power distribution and electrical infrastructure concepts.
• Experience with mechanical interlocking applications in MV power distribution systems.
