Mechanical System Engineer – Aerospace (Benevento)

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical System Engineer to join our dynamic team at S.A.B. Aerospace’s headquarters in Benevento. The role focuses on defining mechanical and structural requirements for space‑related hardware and supporting the full product development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Derive detailed mechanical/structural requirements from high‑level customer specifications.
• Collaborate with System Engineering on concept and trade studies to shape the architectural baseline.
• Design and analyse metallic and composite structures, considering manufacturability and integration constraints.
• Prepare procurement specifications, manage subcontractor deliveries, and support qualification of manufacturing processes.
• Provide technical input for test plans, generate test specifications, and assist during hardware integration and final testing.
• Support quality assurance activities, including NCR discussion and disposition.
• Lead technical meetings with customers and multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to program schedule tracking.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum three years of professional experience in the space industry.
• Strong knowledge of structural requirements for space‑station modules, satellites, and launcher adapters.
• Proficiency in hand calculations, engineering judgment, and documentation preparation.
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary projects and communicate with all management levels.
