Medical Head, Turkey

About the role

Medison, a global pharmaceutical company focused on cancer and rare diseases, is looking for a Country Medical Head for Turkey. This is the most senior medical representative in the country, accountable for the Medical function, leading all medical activities for the assigned products and reporting to the Cluster Medical Head.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic medical leadership and scientific expertise across the assigned therapeutic areas and products, sharing insights with Medical, Commercial and other teams.
• Lead, recruit, develop and deploy MAMs and/or MSLs, including performance management and capability building.
• Develop and execute the annual country medical strategy, roadmap and budget in line with brand and business plans.
• Build trusted relationships with KOLs, HCPs, patient advocacy groups and investigators, and handle medical enquiries in a timely, compliant way.
• Lead scientific exchange and medical education through meetings, office visits, conferences, symposia, lectures and presentations.
• Partner with Commercial, Market Access, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance and Clinical teams, and give medical input to reimbursement and health-basket processes.
• Oversee country medical programs and research, including compassionate-use programs and investigator-initiated trials.
• Review and approve promotional materials from a medical perspective, ensure safety information is reported to Pharmacovigilance, and represent the Medical function externally.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in a life-sciences or healthcare discipline (MD, PhD, PharmD, dentistry or veterinary medicine).
• 8-10 years of pharmaceutical-industry experience in Medical Affairs or a related medical/commercial role; fast-growing or start-up experience is an advantage.
• Experience in specialty areas such as Rare Diseases, Cardiology or Oncology, with an established network of country KOLs.
• Fluent English, with strong written and verbal communication and confidence engaging senior representatives of customers, health funds and the Ministry of Health.
• Willingness to travel across the country and a valid driver's license.

Required skills

• Strong scientific, clinical and Medical Affairs knowledge, including on- and off-label concepts.
• Experience with product launches, insight-based planning and stakeholder engagement is preferred.
• Ability to explain complex science clearly to diverse audiences, and strong leadership, collaboration and compliance mindset.
