Modules Engineer – Mechanical Design

About the role

Webasto is seeking a Modules Engineer Design to join its Engineering Department. The role focuses on translating customer specifications into robust mechanical designs for automotive roof and electrification systems, ensuring quality, cost, performance, and safety targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze customer specifications, CAD data and translate them into feasible mechanical designs.
• Develop designs throughout the product lifecycle, from concept to serial production, using Autodesk Inventor and CATIA V6/3DEXPERIENCE.
• Create 3D parts and assemblies, and prepare production‑ready 2D drawings with GD&T.
• Consider sheet‑metal, thermoforming, plastic injection molding and additive manufacturing processes.
• Perform packaging, interface and clearance checks, support prototype builds and work with suppliers on design improvements.
• Maintain CAD models and related data according to company PDM/PLM standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of mechanical design/product development experience, preferably in automotive, commercial vehicles or HVAC.
• Strong command of written and spoken English and a valid driving licence.
• Currently residing in İzmir or Manisa, or willing to relocate to one of these locations.

Required skills

• Advanced 3D CAD proficiency with Autodesk Inventor, CATIA V6 and 3DEXPERIENCE.
• Sheet‑metal design, plastic injection molding and thermoforming design knowledge.
• Additive manufacturing / 3D printing awareness.
• 2D technical drawing creation, tolerancing and GD&T.
• Experience with PDM/PLM systems (advantageous).
