Network & Security Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Network & Security Engineer with strong expertise in network infrastructure, security operations, and connectivity solutions, preferably within financial services environments.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, manage, and optimise network infrastructure across data centres, cloud environments and customer connectivity points.
• Operate and maintain enterprise network devices such as routers, switches, load balancers, wireless networks and monitoring tools.
• Perform L2/L3 troubleshooting, incident management and escalation to resolve performance and availability issues.
• Configure and maintain VPN tunnels, MPLS, GRE and IPsec connections for secure inter‑site connectivity.
• Implement firewall rule updates and network access changes following security policies and change‑management procedures.
• Support disaster‑recovery network operations, redundancy planning and capacity management.
• Maintain accurate network topology diagrams, configuration inventories and operational documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of network/security engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a banking or financial institution.
• Strong knowledge of routing, switching, VLANs, STP, BGP/OSPF and traffic optimisation.
• Experience with enterprise network platforms (Cisco, Juniper, HP/Aruba or equivalent).

Required skills

• VPN technologies (IPsec, GRE, MPLS).
• Load balancing solutions.
• Network monitoring tools (Zabbix, SolarWinds, PRTG or similar).
• Firewall platforms (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, Check Point).
• Certifications: CCNA, CCNP Enterprise, JNCIS/JNCIP (or equivalent).
• Understanding of ITIL processes and experience in NOC/SOC environments.
