Node.js Backend Developer

About the role

viravira.co is looking for Node.js backend developers to build the back end of its product. You will work in a team and cooperate with the product owner to turn business needs into robust, integrated technology solutions, solving unique and challenging software problems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop back-end web applications
• Create servers and databases for functionality
• Ensure application responsiveness
• Implement automated testing platforms and unit tests

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or a related field
• 3+ years of working experience
• Proficiency in English
• Understanding of asynchronous programming and scalable, microservices-based architectures
• Knowledge of the GNU/Linux operating system
• Strong sense of ownership, problem-solving and critical thinking, and ability to work independently

Required skills

• Strong JavaScript (ES6 / ES7)
• Node.js and Express framework
• Git version control, including branching and merging
• Caching with Redis for high traffic
• PostgreSQL, MongoDB and Postman
• AWS (RDS, EC2, ELB, Load Balancer)
• Elastic Search is a big plus; understanding of sockets and HTTP
