Procurement Manager (Chemical)

About the role

The company is a locally established manufacturing business operating in the chemical sector. It seeks an experienced Procurement Manager to lead and transform its procurement function, moving beyond day‑to‑day purchasing to build robust processes, sourcing strategies, and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage direct raw material procurement activities.
• Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives, identifying and onboarding alternative local and international suppliers.
• Negotiate commercial agreements, improve supplier performance, and drive cost‑optimization projects.
• Establish procurement policies, procedures, and best practices, and build KPI‑driven reporting and performance management processes.
• Collaborate closely with Production, Planning, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
• Support procurement digitalisation initiatives and contribute to ERP implementation and development projects.
• Analyse spend data to identify efficiency improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Proven procurement experience within manufacturing, chemical, petrochemical, or related industries.
• Strong background in direct raw material sourcing and supplier management.
• Experience in strategic sourcing, procurement process improvement, and international procurement/import processes.
• Track record of developing alternative supplier networks and delivering cost‑saving initiatives.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement digitalisation projects.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Self‑starter mindset able to operate in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
