Production Planning Engineer

About the role

Damen is looking for a Production Planning Engineer for its shipyard in Antalya. The role covers planning and scheduling of hull construction, outfitting, piping, mechanical, HVAC, insulation, testing and commissioning activities, and coordinating resources across the shipyard.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain and update detailed production plans covering hull construction, outfitting, piping, mechanical, HVAC, insulation, testing and commissioning.
• Develop daily, weekly and monthly production schedules aligned with project plans and milestones.
• Monitor planned versus actual progress, identify deviations and report delays and bottlenecks.
• Coordinate workforce, capacity, material and equipment requirements.
• Review technical drawings, specifications and work packages, and follow up on engineering documentation, materials and equipment availability.
• Coordinate planning across Production, Engineering, Procurement, Warehouse and Project Management teams, and monitor supplier and subcontractor delivery schedules.
• Conduct progress reviews, coordinate corrective actions, evaluate the impact of design changes and prepare progress reports and capacity analyses.
• Support planning for testing, commissioning, sea trials and vessel delivery, and contribute to continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience in the shipbuilding industry, preferably in production planning or shipbuilding production; applicants without shipbuilding experience will not be considered.
• Good knowledge of shipbuilding construction and outfitting processes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, project specifications and production schedules.
• Experience in production planning, progress monitoring, resource coordination and reporting.
• Very good command of English; based in Antalya or willing to relocate, and willing to work in a shipyard production environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Knowledge of project planning software is an advantage.
• Analytical thinking, planning, organisational and problem-solving skills, and strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
