Project Manager, Emerging Technology Acceleration Facility

About the role

The Istanbul Regional Hub of UNDP serves as the organization's knowledge and advisory hub for the Europe and CIS region. Its Innovation and Digital Team focuses on urban transformation, digital development and emerging technologies, and works as a regional extension of UNDP's global Digital, AI and Innovation Hub. The Project Manager leads the Emerging Technology Acceleration Facility (ETAF) under the Alternative Finance Lab, strengthening UNDP's capacity, governments and other stakeholders to adopt, govern and responsibly deploy emerging technologies such as blockchain and AI.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and update of the ETAF annual work plan, procurement plan and monitoring and evaluation plan
• Manage ETAF financial resources and coordinate high-quality reporting on ETAF initiatives
• Coordinate initiative leads through governance mechanisms, identify and report project risks, and oversee team performance and reviews
• Prepare and review Terms of Reference, technical specifications and other procurement documentation
• Manage strategic partnerships, draft agreements with governments, NGOs and private sector partners, and prepare partnership proposals and concept notes
• Leverage the blockchain ecosystem network to connect participants with mentors, investors and experts, and secure funding and in-kind resources
• Work with the Communications Lead on the ETAF communication strategy and support knowledge-sharing events such as workshops and webinars

Required profile
