Remote Contract Copyeditor – Medicine & Life Sciences

About the role

We are seeking a remote copyeditor to refine scientific manuscripts in medicine and life sciences. This contract position offers a predictable schedule with regular work, allowing you to contribute to high‑quality research publications from anywhere.

Key responsibilities

• Edit academic and scientific manuscripts for grammar, punctuation, clarity, conciseness, logical flow, and overall readability while preserving the author’s intended meaning.
• Ensure language meets the standards of a global academic audience and conforms to formal scientific writing conventions.
• Apply journal‑specific style guidelines, including structure, formatting, referencing, abbreviations, and units of measure, and maintain consistency across text, tables, figures, and supplementary material.
• Cross‑check document metadata such as in‑text citations, reference lists, author affiliations, and figure/table callouts using appropriate software tools.

Required profile

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Life Sciences or a related field.
• Proven experience in academic editing or copyediting of scientific manuscripts.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, especially Track Changes and styling options.
• Familiarity with the AMA style guide is preferred.
