Research and Development Engineer - Sensor Systems

About the role

Sensorsan designs and manufactures high-performance sensor systems for demanding environments such as industrial automation and defense applications, with expertise in signal processing, sensor fusion, embedded systems and real-time algorithms. It is looking for an R&D Engineer with a strong background in signal processing and preferably in sensor or navigation systems, working on sensor fusion algorithms, embedded platforms and signal conditioning systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement signal processing algorithms (filtering, FFT, sensor fusion)
• Model and simulate sensor and system behavior (noise, bias, thermal effects)
• Analyze sensor and system performance using laboratory and field test data
• Implement and optimize algorithms on real-time embedded platforms (preferably ARM Cortex-M or DSP)
• Collaborate on hardware-software co-design with the electronics and mechanical teams
• Document research findings, designs and experimental results

Required profile

• BSc or MSc in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or a related field
• 1 to 4 years of experience
• Solid understanding of digital signal processing and control systems
• Familiarity with sensor technologies (IMUs, temperature, pressure, etc.)
• Preferred: previous experience in defense, automotive or industrial automation

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one of C/C++, Python or MATLAB
• Preferred: MATLAB/Simulink or similar modeling tools
• Preferred: hands-on real-time embedded development (ARM Cortex-M or DSP)
• Preferred: sensor calibration and noise modeling, and hardware interfaces such as SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, RS-422/485 or Ethernet
