Sanctions Compliance & Sustainability Officer

About the role

MNG Airlines is looking for a Sanctions Compliance & Sustainability Officer to join its Compliance & ESG Directorate. The role combines two strands: supporting international sanctions compliance through screening, due diligence and risk assessment, and contributing to the development and coordination of sustainability initiatives and ESG-related projects.

Key responsibilities

• Sanctions compliance: screen customers, suppliers, business partners and other counterparties against international sanctions lists (OFAC, EU, UN)
• Review and assess potential matches against sanctions lists, and conduct due diligence and enhanced due diligence (EDD) reviews with relevant departments
• Assess sanctions risks related to international air cargo operations, including parties, shipments, destinations and transit routes
• Perform periodic risk-based reviews, maintain accurate KYC records, and escalate potential matches and concerns
• Improve sanctions screening procedures and internal controls, prepare periodic reports and monitor regulatory developments
• Sustainability & ESG: support corporate sustainability initiatives and ESG projects, coordinate progress monitoring and stakeholder engagement
• Research sustainability trends and best practice, and help organise sustainability events and employee engagement activities

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Law, International Relations, Business Administration, Economics, Finance or a related field
• At least 2 years of experience in sanctions compliance, regulatory compliance, KYC or due diligence
• Good knowledge of international sanctions regulations and screening processes (OFAC, EU, UN)
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
• Experience in aviation, logistics, international trade or financial services is an advantage
• Interest in sustainability, ESG principles and corporate responsibility

Required skills

• Knowledge of due diligence, KYC and EDD processes
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Familiarity with sanctions screening tools and compliance databases is preferred
• Analytical, research, organisational and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and confidentiality
