SAP Licensing Consultant

About the role

Deloitte's Technology & Transformation team is seeking an SAP Licensing Consultant. The consultant supports clients in analysing and optimising their SAP software licence portfolios, contracts and entitlements, and helps with compliance and cost savings.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and optimise SAP licence portfolios, contracts and entitlements, including user classification, licence consumption and entitlement analysis.
• Analyse SAP contracts, price lists, licence metrics and commercial terms to find optimisation opportunities and compliance risks.
• Support SAP licence audits and compliance reviews by gathering, validating and analysing data.
• Work with SAP usage data and tools to assess licence requirements, consumption patterns and cost-saving opportunities.
• Help clients with optimisation strategies such as user/licence classification, shelfware identification and licence rationalisation.
• Support SAP S/4HANA transformation and migration projects from a licensing perspective.
• Develop business cases and recommendations for SAP licence negotiations and renewals.
• Keep up to date with SAP licensing models, commercial policies, product developments and industry trends.
• Contribute to internal knowledge, methodologies and tools for software asset management and SAP licensing.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in SAP licensing, software asset management, IT procurement, contract management or a related field.
• Experience with SAP licence audits, optimisation, compliance assessments and contract reviews.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills, working with SAP, vendors, procurement, IT, finance and business teams.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of SAP licensing models (subscription-based, user-based, indirect/digital access).
• Good knowledge of SAP products, licence metrics, terms and commercial structures.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with SAP tools and/or SAM tools is a plus.
• Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, SAP Cloud solutions, SAP BTP or RISE with SAP is a strong plus; SAP licensing or SAM certification is a plus.
