Senior Cost Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Cost Accountant to lead raw‑material cost analysis, supplier cost comparison and landed‑cost calculations. The role works closely with Procurement, Supply Chain, Production, Warehouse, Accounts Payable and the Finance Manager to assess the financial impact of sourcing decisions and support cash‑flow forecasting.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse raw‑material requirements, lead times and inventory levels in collaboration with Production Planning and Supply Chain, identifying excess stock, shortages and working‑capital risks.
• Provide financial input for purchasing‑timing decisions and contribute assumptions to cash‑flow forecasts.
• Review supplier quotations, evaluate total cost of ownership—including price, currency, payment terms, freight, duties, insurance, lead time, quality and financing impact—and prepare recommendation reports.
• Calculate estimated and actual landed costs, reconcile differences, and ensure consistent allocation to raw materials, products or shipments.
• Maintain historical cost‑comparison data and support Procurement and Finance in supplier and sourcing decisions.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable and import finance teams to obtain complete import‑cost documentation.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of manufacturing cost accounting, inventory valuation and COGS analysis.
• Experience working with cross‑functional teams such as Procurement, Supply Chain and Finance.
• Ability to evaluate financial, working‑capital and profitability consequences of sourcing plans.
