Senior Environmental Specialist

About the role

Assystem, which works on nuclear and renewable energy, grid modernization and hydrogen solutions, is looking for a Senior Environmental Specialist in Ankara. You will manage environmental and social assessment activities for international projects, including ESIA reports, impact assessments and compliance with environmental requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and write Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) reports, including impact assessment and mitigation measures.
• Manage environmental monitoring activities and review monitoring data, technical studies and reports to assess performance and compliance.
• Support the preparation and implementation of Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs) and their monitoring programmes.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors and project teams to ensure quality and timely delivery of assessments.
• Conduct site visits and take part in technical meetings, audits and environmental inspections where required.
• Contribute to technical methodologies and proposals for environmental and social consulting assignments.

Required profile

• At least 10 years of total professional experience, including at least 5 years as a Project Manager.
• Proven experience preparing and writing ESIA reports.
• Mandatory experience on projects financed by International Financial Institutions (World Bank, IFC, EBRD).
• Experience in linear infrastructure and/or energy, oil and gas projects is highly desirable.
• Excellent written and spoken English, including the ability to write high-quality technical reports.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to work with multidisciplinary and international teams.
• Willingness to travel for project-related activities.
